I had my dog Polly here for her last day....the staff here could not have been more caring, honest and truly loving. Keep in mind these folks have to see pets pass every day almost....a lot of the techs are younger people who have nothing but care in their eyes.
They were good on a REALLY bad day. My new pup was just there for her first shots.
they do not know what they are doing. misdiagnoses, and blame the animal parent for cat getting sick when she was just old. Also has a vet tech assistant there who is an animal thief.
I have been taking my dogs to Bangor Vet since the seventies. They have always treated me and my animals with the utmost caring and concern. I had a very ill afghan hound and we struggled to get a diagnosis on her. Dr. Shorkey did everything she could to discover what was wrong with Melody and, when we finally got a diagnosis (she was terminal), Dr. Shorkey held me and we both cried. I will never forget that. They are more like family and not just providing a service.
The place is busy for a reason.
Fluff the cat was a first time patient. They were immediately friendly to fluff and reassuring. Dr. Shorkey took time with me to explain blood work and xrays. Poor Fluff had swallowed kite string that ran throughout his system. They understood what a hard decision we were faced with but did not pressure us. They operated that very day. They kept us updated and reassured us of fluff's recovery. When we picked him up three days later we could see how he had been treated like one of the family. Thank you!
They care, and they offer payment plans. Dr. Asa has been amazing with my rat babies
If anyone had to wait a long time to be seen, all I can say is that it is not the norm. When we go there, we understand that some animals may be in need of urgent care and we expect to wait until they are stabilized. I know some people wait until their pets are quite sick before they take them in, as well.
